We are looking for a Creative Director to lead narrative development, messaging systems, and copy quality across Footprint’s brand and campaign work.

This role owns the language layer of our output: voice, clarity, persuasion, and consistency. You will work with strategy to sharpen positioning, guide writers, and collaborate with design and video to deliver cohesive creative systems that move people and convert.

Responsibilities

• Lead messaging and narrative development from brief to final execution
• Build voice and tone systems, campaign lines, and core copy frameworks
• Write and direct English and Amharic copy across ads, scripts, landing pages, decks, and social systems (additional language is a plus)
• Ensure creative output aligns with strategy, offer, and audience truth
• Lead copy reviews and raise quality through clear, actionable feedback
• Partner with design and video to ensure words and visuals land as one system
• Build reusable writing systems: templates, QA checklists, and style guides
• Support client presentations and creative rationale communication

Requirements

• 5+ years writing experience in branding, advertising, or agency environments
• Strong portfolio across campaign copy, brand narrative, and content systems
• Ability to translate strategy into compelling language without exaggeration
• Strong editorial discipline: clarity, structure, and consistency
• Ability to lead other writers and set quality standards
• Comfort working at speed while maintaining quality and accuracy
